Calcium Bromide
Calcium Bromide (Liquid/Solid)
Calcium bromide is composed of calcium and bromide ions and dissolves readily in water to create a clear brine with adjustable density. In liquid form it is typically supplied at 52–56% concentration, while the solid (powder/flakes) can be dissolved on site to make brine at the required density. This makes it a key fluid for demanding well conditions in both onshore and offshore operations

- Oil And Gas (Offshore & On Shore)
- Water Treatment, De-Icing
- Mechanism works offshore and on shore:
- Dissolution of solid CaBr₂ into Ca²⁺ and Br⁻ (clear brine).
- Dense CaBr₂ brine in the wellbore providing high hydrostatic pressure.
- Formation protection with Ca²⁺ stabilizing clays and solids-free brine reducing damage.
