- Lower torque and drag: Form a lubricating film on metal surfaces and filter cake, cutting friction in deviated and horizontal wells and helping directional tools slide more easily.
- Prevent stuck pipe and bit balling: Improve sliding, reduce differential sticking and keep the bit face cleaner, which also supports higher rate of penetration.
- Protect equipment: Reduce wear on drillpipe, BHA and casing, extending tool life in both land and offshore operations
