- Oil-based muds: Keep barite, hematite and drill cuttings oil-wet, improving rheology, lubrication and emulsion stability in both land and offshore wells.
- Wellbore/reservoir contact: Adjust rock wettability so OBM contacts the wellbore evenly, improving hole cleaning and reducing water invasion.
- Other Features
- Detergents/cleaners: Improve wetting of surfaces so cleaning solutions spread and penetrate dirt and grease.
- Paints/coatings: Help paints wet pigments and substrates for uniform films and better adhesion.
- Agriculture: Added to pesticide/foliar sprays to spread on leaves rather than bead up, improving coverage.
